Features and Characteristics
What do the terms 'Pile Height' and 'Total Height' mean?
The pile height refers to the length of the artificial grass fibers themselves, from the backing to the tip of the fiber. This determines how 'long' or 'short' the grass feels. The total height is the height of the entire product, including the backing (the underside of the artificial grass). This indicates the total thickness of the artificial grass.
What is the difference between 'Pile Weight' and 'Total Weight'?
The pile weight (expressed in grams per square meter, g/m²) indicates the weight of only the fibers. A higher pile weight often means a denser and fuller-looking grass.
The total weight (expressed in grams per square meter, g/m²) is the weight of the entire artificial grass product, including both the fibers and the backing. This indicates the robustness and the amount of material used.
The total weight (expressed in grams per square meter, g/m²) is the weight of the entire artificial grass product, including both the fibers and the backing. This indicates the robustness and the amount of material used.
In what widths are your artificial grass rolls available?
Our artificial grass rolls are standardly available in widths of 200 cm and 400 cm. Some types are also available in 500 cm width. This provides flexibility for different project sizes and helps minimize the number of seams.
What is the standard roll length of your artificial grass?
The standard roll length of our artificial grass is 40 meters. For larger projects, we can often provide custom lengths or combine multiple rolls.
What does 'Tufted' mean as a production process?
'Tufted' refers to the production method where artificial grass fibers are stitched through a backing with needles, similar to how carpet is made. This ensures a strong and even attachment of the fibers.
What is 'Gauge'?
The gauge describes the distance between the rows of fibers. A smaller gauge means the fibers are closer together.
What is 'Stitch Rate'?
The stitch rate indicates how many stitches (and thus fiber bundles) there are per 10 cm line or per square meter. A higher stitch rate (for example, 16 stitches per 10 cm, or 16,800 stitches per m²) results in a denser, fuller, and often more realistic-looking artificial grass mat.
What materials are the artificial grass fibers made from?
Our artificial grass fibers are primarily made from a combination of Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP). Polyethylene provides softness and a natural appearance, while Polypropylene contributes to the resilience and durability of the fibers.
What is artificial grass with 'Landscaping Application' suitable for?
Artificial grass with a 'Landscaping Application' is specially designed for use in gardens, parks, balconies, and other outdoor areas where a natural-looking, low-maintenance lawn is desired. It's durable enough for daily use and resistant to various weather conditions.
Which products are suitable for fall dampening under artificial grass?
For playgrounds and under play equipment, fall dampening is crucial. We offer specific underlays and pad systems for this, such as our Safeplay or Safepad products.
What does 'UV Stability' mean?
UV stability indicates how well the artificial grass resists degradation from sunlight. A value of 4-5 on a scale of 1 to 5 (where 5 is the highest) means our artificial grass is excellently UV-resistant and will retain its color and quality for years, even under intense sun.
Is your artificial grass fire-safe?
Yes, we offer special fire-retardant artificial grass that meets strict safety standards, such as the CFL-s1 classification, suitable for public spaces and events. This minimizes fire hazards.
What about the durability and recyclability of your artificial grass?
Europe Grass is committed to sustainability. We offer 100% recyclable artificial grass and optimize our processes for minimal environmental impact. Our artificial grass is designed for longevity and contributes to an eco-friendly solution for your projects.
Are there alternatives to traditional artificial grass?
Depending on the application, specific product lines or other solutions may be more suitable. We're happy to advise you on the best artificial grass for your situation.
Purchase and Delivery
How can I buy artificial grass from Europe Grass?
As a wholesaler, we supply to businesses. You can contact us for a consultation, a quote, or to place your order. We have an efficient quoting process and various contact options.
What are the delivery times and options?
Thanks to our large stock (500,000m²) and in-house logistics, we can ensure fast delivery, often within 2 to 5 business days in the Netherlands and Belgium. For other countries, we rely on our established logistics partners.
What are artificial grass remnants or clearance batches?
Artificial grass remnants and clearance batches are smaller pieces or leftover rolls of artificial grass that we offer at reduced prices. This is a cost-effective option and ideal for smaller projects or as a leftover piece.
Installation and Maintenance
How should I clean and maintain artificial grass?
Artificial grass is low-maintenance, but regular cleaning is essential to keep it looking good. Remove leaves, brush up the artificial grass, and clean any stains. Use a special artificial grass broom or brushing machine for this.
How do I remove moss or weeds from artificial grass?
Moss and weeds can grow in artificial grass, especially when drainage isn't optimal. Regular sweeping and brushing help. Stubborn moss can be treated with special cleaners or carefully with vinegar.
How do I deal with pet odors (urine) on artificial grass?
For urine odor on artificial grass, we recommend thoroughly rinsing the area with water and possibly using a special odor neutralizer to effectively remove the smell. Anti-odor granules can also help.
Does artificial grass get hot in the sun?
Yes, artificial grass can get warmer in direct sunlight than natural grass. The extent of this depends on the color and material. However, there are innovations and specific product lines that reduce this effect.
How long does artificial grass last?
The lifespan of artificial grass depends on its quality and use, but high-quality artificial grass from Europe Grass can last up to 15-20 years. Regular maintenance contributes to a longer lifespan and keeps the artificial grass looking good.
Does artificial grass need infill sand?
Not all artificial grass requires infill sand. Some of our products are 'non-infill' and do not require sand. Infill sand is often used for stability, UV protection, and to keep the fibers upright.
Is it necessary to brush artificial grass? And how?
Yes, it's advisable to regularly brush artificial grass to keep the fibers upright and give it a fresh look. This can be done with a special artificial grass broom or a brushing machine. This also helps to make the artificial grass look good again if it's matted down.
How do I install artificial grass correctly?
While Europe Grass is a wholesaler, we're happy to advise our customers on the correct installation techniques. This includes preparing the sub-base (possibly with fall-dampening or pressure distribution mat), unrolling and cutting the artificial grass, and gluing seams.
