Maar een goede ondergrond kan helpen om ernstig letsel te voorkomen, zeker bij vallen van speeltoestellen. Want zo'n val is helaas een van de meest voorkomende ongelukken op speelplekken. De juiste ondergrond zorgt ervoor dat kinderen veilig kunnen spelen. Hoe hoog een speeltoestel is, bepaalt hoe goed de ondergrond de klap moet opvangen. Als een speeltoestel maximaal 60 cm hoog is, is er geen speciale valdemping nodig. Tussen de 60 cm en 100 cm is gewoon gras voldoende. Maar als de valhoogte groter is dan 100 cm, dan is een speciale, gecertificeerde valdempende ondergrond de beste en veiligste keuze.
